LGBTQ discrimination in America / by Duchess Harris, JD, PhD ; with Kristin Marciniak.

Harris, Duchess, (author.). Marciniak, Kristin, (author.).

Summary:

The LGBTQ community encompasses a wide variety of identities and experiences, and currently there are no federal laws that explicitly protect their rights. Changes have been slow, in part because the community encompasses a wide variety of identities and experiences. Harris and Marciniak examine the effects of direct and indirect discrimination, and stress the importance of educating people about the inaccuracies of harmful stereotypes, and of altering the political framework that allows LGBTQ discrimination. -- adapted from chapter: A hostile atmosphere.
