Where the sea lavender grows : a novel / Kitty Johnson.

Summary:

Two women separated by time are connected by a haunting love story. In 2006, an artist named Elise takes on a project to restore the murals of Marsh House, a home in North Norfolk. In 1939, Lilias and her sister Ruth live in Marsh House and take in a woman and her son who are evacuees from London. When the little boy's father comes to visit, Lilias forms an instant bond with him. Then he suddenly disappears without a trace. Elise and Sam, a local carpenter, work to solve the mystery of that disappearance as Elise brings the murals back to life.
