Summary: Something strange and frightening is going on at the Jack-In-The-Green festival. Charly and her mother Megan attend every year, and this year they have been joined by the retired wizard Amergin and Charly's friend Sam. Mysterious groups of young people dressed in black - Goths - appear in town and menace Charly and Sam. Amergin recognizes them as the last of the Sidhe, the Faerie, the ancient people of Ireland. When the Sidhe kidnap the wizard, Charly and Sam head to the hollow hills, the enchaneted dwelling place of the Sidhe, to rescue him. Charly, Sam, and Amergin, helped by Megan and the local wiccan coven, meet the Sidhe in battle during the festival.
