Summary:

Birmingham lawyer and politician U.W. Clemon describes his place in Birmingham politics and the city's continuing problems with race. Clemon discusses his membership on the Birmingham City Council, the prospect of George Wallace joining the 1976 presidential slate, and his hopes for the influence of an increased number of African Americans in the state senate.
